Corinth, originally known as Cross City,
was established in 1854 where the Memphis/ Charleston and Mobile/Ohio railroads would
later cross in 1858.
  
One of the early major battles of the Civil War
was fought in April 1862 at Shiloh in nearby Tennessee. There were also significant battles in
and around Corinth throughout 1862 over control of this major Mississippi Valley transportation hub.
     
The railroads, which brought prosperity and military occupation during the Civil War, eventually brought it to the forefront as a manufacturing center.
   
The city’s growth brought many cultural influences. The town’s many architectural styles attest to this. Corinth is a great place to live, work and play, no matter what your age or situation in life.
